A round-up of developments in the run up to Christmas...

Sales and movements
It has been reported that the following former departmental and Internal User vehicles are now at the new National Railway Museum Locomotion site at Shildon:

6351, 977971 and 977972 moved to Battlefield Line back in September from Doncaster and Derby.

Steam crane 95000 (024984/5) last noted at Moveright's yard in Wishaw is now apparently at Much Marcle in Herefordshire with a group of steam preservationists.
****UPDATE 30TH AUGUST 2005****
It has now been reported that this crane is actually now at Woodside Farm, Welland, Worcestershire - the site of the Welland Steam & Country Rally.

DM 45000 the former Royal saloon that spent many years at Kineton has now moved to the Midland Railway Centre. It is currently under restoration at Butterley.

889009/15 were sold to an undisclosed buyer at the beginning of December. It is not yet known whether they have moved from Crewe yet. There is still no news on the old Crewe test train in South yard.

977789/790/791/793/794 from the old Doncaster test train moved to Welwyn Garden City yard on 15/12. They are now believed to be owned by Fragonset. They moved on to MOD Ludgershall on 20/12. 977788 and 977792 remain at Doncaster works. 6356/7 are now also owned by Fragonset - it is not certain whether they have moved from Doncaster works yet.

****UPDATE 9TH JANUARY 2005****
6356 and 6357 have now moved to Barrow Hill.

The remaining yellow half of sandite unit 930205 - 977872 finally left Ramsgate for Immingham on 10th December.

Disposals
975071/797 look to have been scrapped on behalf of Balfour Beatty during the summer at Heaton ECD.

99648 scrapped at Eastleigh East Yard by Graham Recycling Services Ltd. Newport on behalf of Raxstar during November.

The remaining redundant stock at Hexthorpe was scrapped on site by DNL at the beginning of December after being repositioned in the Roberts Road (Jarvis) part of the yard.

889028 has been scrapped on site at South Midland Railway while 975862 (also from the SMR) moved to EMR Snailwell at the end of November.

Other news
977873 received a new repaint into BR blue and grey livery. See picture below.

977994 is now active in the NMT replacing 977974.

The red Carillion OHLM set visited Wabtec 18/11. The former GTRM logos on the sides have been crudely blanked out although this may have happened previous to this visit.

Finally it was announced that Eastleigh works is to close at the end of 2005 which probably means the end for the stored redundant departmentals and Internal User wagons on site.

****UPDATE 24TH DECEMBER 2004****
It has been reported that both load bank Class 86 locomotives are now at Rugby and are also now renumbered 86901 and 86902. (86253 = 86901 and 86210 = 86902.)
