News - June update

The usual occasional round-up of the latest happenings...

Moves

Peak Rail have sold all of their DMU fleet:

977853 to East Lancashire Railway

977854 to Midland Railway Centre

977806 was also due to move but its new home is not yet known.

Exhibition stock moves

99629 moved to Avon Valley Railway from Long Marston.

99625 left Keith & Dufftown Railway at the beginning of June, seen at Wishaw on 7th. Final destination is Long Marston where some modifications are being carried out. It is now owned by Electric Traction Limited (ETL).

Internal user moves

024531 has gone to Swanage, formerly at Avon Valley Railway.

Milk tank 041358 has moved to Bodmin & Wenford Railway.

Rectank 061081 is now at Laira from Swansea Landore.

Loco moves

PWM 97651 has been delivered to the Strathspey Railway.

06003 (97804) has apparently moved to Rowsley during May.

Other moves

Saloon 45045 from Mid Hants Railway to Crewe Railway Age.

Dynamometer Car 45050 appears to have moved to Derby from the Midland Railway Centre.

977787 has moved to Dalton from Throckmorton Airfield.

Disposals

977893 has been broken up at Eastleigh works during April / May by Ian Riley Engineering.

977944, 977945, 977946 & 977947 have moved to Booths.

977486 is being broken up at Northampton Ironstone Railway Trust.

99025, 99026 & 99027 were sent to Thomsons, Stockton from MOD Kineton at the end of April.

Other news

977975 and 977976 have been sold to Arriva Trains Wales. Presumably will be spares for 55032. They were moved to Cardiff at the beginning of June from Long Marston.

Work has begun to remove the stock from the former Pullman shed at Preston Park, Brighton. Enabling works are currently underway and the stock is expected to be removed during September. 083632 and 975841 are amongst the vehicles to be removed.

Overhead inspection vehicle 998901 (024907) has also now been repainted into it's former research department livery at the Middleton Railway in Leeds. It matches Lab 20 (999507) and both were seen together in action on the weekend of June 7th. See Photos pages for more pictures.

    977806 left Peak Rail for Midland Railway Centre, Butterley on 23rd June.
