Isn't this the prototype GUV with fibre glass sides?

It is the prototype yes - 93500 - although I'm not sure what it is made of.....

I'd take a big gamble on metal seeing as it's rusting quite nicely.

the prototype GUV, originally W86500, was externally identical to the production GUVs, except only two sets of doors.

there was an experimental GRP 'brute carrier' van, E85000, built in 1970, on a standard underframe/ends from Sc15170. gangway was sealed, but retained 'bow' ends. three double doors per side with small square windows and long hinge arms (attached to strengthening struts). although unique, it lasted to 1982.

ADB977442 is now preserved at The Churnet Valley Railway. Literally being saved from the scrapmans cutting equipment with only minutes to spare!

Originally being saved by Pete Waterman, is now owned by myself with restoration underway to put it back into its original as built Crimson livery.

Further info should appear soon on www.brcw.moonfruit.com
