Built by the London Brighton & South Coast Railway at Brighton works in 1902 for C2X class 0-6-0 loco number 555. SR tender number 2753. Subsequently attached to C2X loco 32543 (BR number) on withdrawl. Allocated to Departmental Service on 13-10-62, withdrawn on 15-12-79.
Sold to Madame Tussauds and reconstructed for display at Windsor with replica GWR "Dean Single". Subsequently scrapped and wheelsets recovered for use with Bluebell Railway replica "Brighton Atlantic" locomotive.

Its use at Norwood was a sludge carrier! Went to Barry for scrap before being bought for 'part' preservation. Wheel sets, underframe and axleboxes now at Bluebell Railway.

the loco at windsor & eton Central looks quite out of place in the station now, a crime the tender was cut - good old roger cruse saved the remains didnt he ??
i was always taken there by my grandfather when seeing him at slough, he used to tell stories of the incidents at windsor & slough !!
Last time i went there i was dismayed to see it as shopping mall !!
to look at windsor in its heyday a lot of carry on films used it - carry on loving is a good one where u get some good views of it
